About GeoWall
GeoWall at Sacramento State is a student-run competitive project team that designs and builds a small-scale mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining system. The objective is to use the least amount of kraft paper and minimum reinforcement to endure soil and the design load. Throughout the year, the team has build practices, conducts laboratory testing, and competes in the annual American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) MidPacific competitions against other universities.
The judging will include a design report and poster, as well as a rating of schools based on the least amount of material required to sustain the sand and soil surcharge loads. The design component gives students the opportunity to properly convey and explain their analyses to the judges on the panel. |
